The Maya had the religous book, the Popol Vuh, which stated that the Gods created people out of water and maize.
The Teotihuacan also belived in Gods for the earth and rain.

Believed that letting their own blood would please the Gods and bring rain to water their crops. They also believed that letting willing royal blood sacrifices would please the Gods even more.
Science and Technology
Used their resourse of obsidian to make weapons.
Developed large sailing canoe which they used to migrate.
The Mayan priests also made the most elaborate calender of the ancient times. They were only 17 second off.
The arts and architecture
The Olmecs created giant stone heads that weighed around 20 tons and were around 10 feet tall. As well as jade heads.
The Maya also made more than 80 large ceremonial temples.
